Makiki Valley Loop Trail

THE HIKING GANG! SUPER COOL!

It was fun to have Crista, Jen, Amelia and Nathan on the hike with us.

It was a pretty long, up and down hike; but we prevailed. We Did It!

The Makiki Valley Loop is in the Makiki Forest Recreation Area,

and it is about 3 miles in length.

We found these really neat trees.

Every couple of feet there were tree trunks going down to the ground.

A wonderful playland for some monkey boys!

Treston's beautiful picture.

Even when life is crazy and you feel like you could be loosing your mind...

take a deep breath and enjoy the beauty!

Rubber Band Guns

The rubber band guns. Ok, so they aren't quite like the ones I played with growing up... but they were easily put together with what I had at my house... so FREE! Yeah, that is my favorite. I hot glued 3 large craft sticks together, a small clothespin, and 3 small craft sticks for something to hold onto underneath. It actually works pretty good!
The boys were proud anyway... they kept telling me thank you all night!
We decided to set up a shooting game.
Treston working on his aim... they both did a great job at shooting the pins.
It was very fun craft activity for all involved.

Our GrandmaPillar

Ok, so you want to know what the heck a GrandmaPillar is? Well it is a paper chain with a head and little antenna, and everyday you take a link off... until you get to go to Grandma's house. My kids thought it was sooo cool. It is so funny to me that the simplest things make them so happy! Only 48 more days until we see Grandma! Yeah!

Tortillas.. so yummy!

I taught the kids how to make tortillas a couple of weeks ago... it didn't take long to run out of flour. They wanted to make them everyday... but I was able to talk them into every-other day! :-) Fun memories though. It is amazing how much they LOVE to eat the food THEY make!!!

Fun Stuff

Our most recent hike, a 3 mile round trip hike to Waimano Pool. However, I do believe the hike was miscatagorized (should not have been listed as novice)... we did not make it all the way down. The terrain was pretty rocky and crazy in parts... great memories though! The hill that you went down to get to the waterfall and pool, was then called "cardiac hill" when coming up! There is a reason for that!!!! The boys did great though.. we were calling them our little mountain goats!
Our most wonderful Aunt Crista... so wonderful to go on hikes with and hang out!
Ok, this is not mine... but on our way out of the hike, I saw this bike parked behind my car. This is exactly the bike I want. So, I had to get a picture taken - fun right?

Boys are sooo fun!

Today, on one of our routine bike rides, Treston was ahead of us going down the large hill to our house. As I watched him, he started to really pick up speed, I thought should I yell to slow down? Or should I let him handle this? As I am thinking this, his little bike swirves, and almost goes over quite a few times. At this point I am just sure he is going down. He didn't, thank God. When Aiden, Kailea and I caught up to him, I said " You know you almost wrecked back there?!" He looked at me with a huge smile and said, "Ya, I know... it was awesome!" I laughed so hard. Something so scary to me... was awesome to my 5 year old!

Here he is doing another sooo scary for mommy thing... but totally awesome to a 5 year old boy! I love my Treston! :-)

It starts...

WestPac has officially kicked off! Uggghh! We will miss our hugs, kisses, smiles, laughs, wrestling, reading, game time, movie nights and love from Dad. We love Dad so much. It hurts to see him go, but amidst all the crying and pain... we can be comforted to know that we are an eternal family! Nothing, not even death, can keep us apart in the end. Our Heavenly Father loves us so much and wants us to be happy, even through hard times.
We love you Dad!
